‘Avengers: Endgame’ directors urge fans not to ‘spoil it for others’

The directors of “Avengers: Endgame” are pleading with fans not to spoil the highly anticipated superhero film after pirated footage reportedly leaked online.

A video clip that appears to have been recorded during a film screening by someone who likely “had clearance to view the footage” started circulating across social media, according to CNBC, just days ahead of the film’s April 26 release date.

The outlet described the footage as “spoiler heavy.”

The Russo Brothers – directors Anthony and Joe Russo – took to Twitter Tuesday to urge the “the greatest fans in the world” not to ruin the film for other moviegoers, using the hashtag, #DontSpoilTheEndgame.

“Please know that the two of us, along with everyone involved in ‘Endgame,’ have worked tirelessly for the last three years with the sole intention of delivering a surprising and emotionally powerful conclusion to the Infinity saga,” they wrote in a letter posted to Twitter. “Because so many of you have invested your time, your hearts and your souls into these stories, we’re once again asking for your help.”

The directors continued:

“When you see ‘Endgame’ in the coming weeks, please don’t spoil it for others, the same way you wouldn’t want it spoiled for you. Remember, Thanos still demands your silence.”
