‘Liverpool Will Need To Score 10 Goals To Beat Madrid In The Champions League Final’- Nicol

Salah will be an instant threat for Liverpool in the final

Liverpool legend, Steve Nicol has said that his former club will need to score 10 goals against Real Madrid if they want to secure Champions League glory.

Nicol is concerned about the Reds’ defensive frailties.

Real Madrid will face Liverpool in the Champions League final on May 26.

Los Blancos have won Europe’s elite competition three times in the last four seasons.

Nicol said his former club’s defensive collapse in their 4-2 defeat to Roma last night means they will need to rely on their attacking prowess.

Nicol said on ESPN FC, “I’m thinking after [Roma game], we might have to put 10 past Real Madrid.”

Nicol admits Real Madrid’s wealth of experience could be crucial.

“The real tie-breaker is experience, no question,” he added.

“When you’re put in a high-level situation, with experience against no experience, and you saw Trent Alexander-Arnold, an inexperienced guy where the weight of the tie was too much for him.

“Can you imagine what it will be like in the final?

“That’s why you’ve got to go with the experience of Real Madrid.

“When you’re in a situation where you’re under severe pressure, you kind of go to what you know.

“The only thing Liverpool know really is to go that way (forward).

“And when you’re playing against Real Madrid and you try to do that all the time, you’re going to give yourself some problems,” he said.

Atletico Madrid defeated Nigeria 3-2 in an entertaining friendly encounter played at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Goals from Angel Correa, Fernando Torres and Borja Garces denied the Super Eagles B side a victory, despite scoring two top quality goals through Kelechi Nwakali and second-half substitute Usman Mohammed – whose effort evoked memories of country legend Austin Jay Jay Okocha.

Club legend Torres started from the bench with Kevin Gameiro and match MVP Correa leading the line for Atletico while Salisu Yusuf had Lobi Stars’ Kadiri Samad supported by Emem Eduok – from the right flank – in his attack.

Watch the Highlights below:

What a painful match to lose. The players certainly put in a decent shift. My man of the match is Kelechi Nwakali,

Chelsea Edge Manchester United Out To Claim FA Title

Published

OK, it wasn’t a classic. But should Chelsea care? Nope! They’ve just won the FA Cup for the eighth time in their history! It’s the first cup victory on Conte’s managerial CV. And a first domestic cup defeat in England for Mourinho. Chelsea were the better side in the first half, and defended with great purpose in the second. United only really showed what they could do after the restart.

But chances were at a premium for both sides, and Pogba missed United’s golden opportunity to equalise with that free header in the closing stages. Chelsea were the deserved winners, even if the contest was tight.
